Arthur Adams, Business Manager of Local 493
is presently scheduled for a hearing September 17,1998 between
the Local against Robert Luskin, Peter Vaira, W.Douglas Gow, W.
Neil Eggleston and Paul Stunt at the Ontario Labour Relation Board.
Arthur Adams was charged November, 1997 because
of complaints by the members against the whole executive
board for their non-compliance and unaccountability to the membership.
Adams has hired lawyers to defend himself. He is also accused of lying to the membership at the General Membership Meeting in March and April 1998.
Here are some facts:
- On or about August the 13, 1997 Paul Stunt, a lawyer hired by Robert Luskin (GEB Attorney) to prosecute Canadian Locals, served Adams
with a "Notice of examination", which stated that Adams
was required to attened an examination under oath on September
23, 1997 at the office of a court reporter in Sudbery Ontario,
-On or about November 4, 1998 Inspector Stunt served a second notice of
Examination on Adams to attend on November 13, 1997 at the office
of a court reporter in Sudbury Ontario, Canada.
-Adams did not attend the scheduled Examination on November 13,
-In February 1998 Inspector Stunt brought a "Disciplinary charge" against Adams under the "Ethics and Dicsiplinary Procedure" for failing to attend the Examination in November 1997. Stunt has recomended that:
b) Adams be fined $2,500.00 (Canadian funds)
c) Adams be suspended from membership in the Union for an apropriate period.
-This is what led to Adams application before the Ontario Labour
Relations Board to keep the U.S from interfering with the corrupt
runnings of Canadian locals.
This so far are the NON results of three years of co-operating with the Inspector Generals Office. Where do they Go from here?
